When a child needs medical care away from home, families often find themselves far from everything familiar and focused on one thing: being there for their child.
Our Ronald McDonald House gives families a place to stay close to the care their child needs, without the added worry of where they will sleep, what they will eat or how they will manage the cost of being away from home.
Located in Macon, Georgia, our House welcomes families with children receiving medical care in Central and Southwest Georgia and provides a comfortable, supportive place to stay during some of life’s most difficult days.
A stay at our House is about more than having a room for the night.
Families have access to the everyday comforts that can make a difficult season a little easier: a warm bed, home-cooked meals, laundry facilities, shared spaces to gather and places to rest after long days at the hospital.
Just as important, families find a community of people who understand why being close matters.
Here, parents can focus their energy where it belongs: on their child and their family.
Our House is designed to help families feel comfortable, cared for and supported throughout their stay.
Families have access to private guest rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, meals provided with the help of generous volunteers and community partners, laundry facilities, comfortable common areas and spaces for children and families to spend time together.
These may seem like simple things, but when your days are centered around doctor visits, procedures, treatments and waiting rooms, simple things can mean everything.
For families traveling back and forth while a child receives medical care can be exhausting and expensive. Hotel stays, meals away from home, transportation and time away from work can quickly become another source of stress.
Our House helps ease that burden.
By giving families a place to stay near their child’s medical care, we help make it possible for parents, siblings and caregivers to remain together and close to the child who needs them.
Because when a child is sick, family matters.
The doors of our House stay open because of the generosity of people throughout Central and Southwest Georgia.
Donors, volunteers, businesses, civic organizations and community partners provide meals, supplies, financial support and countless acts of kindness that help care for the families who stay with us.
Every meal prepared, every room supported and every gift given helps make another family’s stay possible.
Families come through our doors carrying different stories. Some stay for a few nights. Others stay for weeks or months.
Each one arrives because a child they love needs care.
